Homemade Butter

Instructions

1. Preparation: Ensure the cream, equipment, and tools are very cold before starting.
2. Whipping the Cream: Using a stand mixer or food processor, start whipping the cream at a low speed, gradually increasing as it thickens. Continue until it turns into whipped cream.
3. Making Butter: Continue whipping past the whipped cream stage until the mixture separates into butter and buttermilk. This process will take about 8 to 10 minutes.
4. Separating Butter and Buttermilk: Once separated, remove the butter from the mixer. Press it to remove as much buttermilk as possible.
5. Rinsing the Butter: Rinse the butter with cold water to remove any remaining buttermilk. This step is crucial to prevent the butter from spoiling quickly.
6. Forming and Storing: Shape the butter as desired and store it in the refrigerator or freeze it. Butter can be frozen for an extended period.
