Ingredients

  1. dried mung beans - 1½ cups (1½ cups)
  2. water - watch the video to see (for soaking and watering)
  3. plastic planter - 1 (11 inch diameter, 8½ inch height)
  4. onion pouch - 1 (for drainage)
  5. paper towel - watch the video to see (for lining the planter)
  6. black cloth - 1 (to block light)

Instructions

  1. Preparation: Wash 1½ cups of dried mung beans and soak in cold water for 24 hours.
  2. Setting Up the Planter: Place an onion pouch at the bottom of the planter for drainage, then line it with a paper towel.
  3. Planting the Beans: Spread the soaked mung beans evenly over the paper towel in the planter.
  4. Watering: Water the beans thoroughly every three hours, making sure the water drains well. Cover the planter with a black cloth to block light.
  5. Harvesting: After 5-6 days, when the sprouts have grown 2-3 inches long, harvest by removing the sprouts from the planter. The bottom part can be trimmed off for easier handling.
