Ingredients

  1. Potatoes - 5-6 (approximately 1 kilo)
  2. Flour - 300g (300g, plus extra for kneading)
  3. Egg - 1
  4. Tomato passata - 1 liter
  5. Carrot - 1/2 (half, chopped)
  6. Onion - 1/2 (half, chopped)
  7. Celery stalk - 1/2 (half, chopped)
  8. Fresh basil - a bunch

  10. Salt - to taste
  11. Pepper - to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare Potatoes: Boil potatoes until tender, then mash.
  2. Make Gnocchi Dough: Mix mashed potatoes, flour, and egg to form a dough.
  3. Shape Gnocchi: Roll dough into logs, cut into pieces, and press with a fork for texture.
  4. Cook Gnocchi: Boil gnocchi until they float to the surface, then drain.
  5. Make Tomato Sauce: Sauté carrot, onion, and celery, add tomato passata, and simmer.
  6. Serve: Serve gnocchi with tomato sauce and fresh basil on top.
