Ingredients

  1. boneless neck steaks - 1 kg
  2. lemon juice - watch the video to see (from one lemon)
  3. olive oil - 3 tablespoons (for steaks)
  4. salt - to taste
  5. pepper - to taste
  6. oven-baked potatoes from Naxos Parbastas - 1 kg (1 kg package)
  7. onion - 1
  8. garlic cloves - 2
  9. dried oregano - 1 tablespoon (for potatoes)
  10. water - 100 g
  11. butter - 1 tablespoon full (for composition)
  12. freshly ground pepper - to taste (for serving)
  13. oregano leaves - to garnish (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Steaks: In a bowl, mix steaks with salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Massage the steaks with the mixture.
  2. Sauté Steaks: Add olive oil to a hot pan. Transfer the steaks to the pan and sauté on both sides until they change color.
  3. Prepare Potatoes: Place Naxos potatoes in a baking pan. Add sliced onion, garlic rings, salt, pepper, dried oregano, and lemon juice. Mix well.
  4. Add Water: Add water to the potato mixture in the baking pan.
  5. Combine Steaks and Potatoes: Transfer the browned steaks to the baking pan with the potatoes.
  6. Add Butter: Pour melted butter over the steaks and potatoes in the baking pan.
  7. Bake: Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (or 230°C for a higher temperature) for about 30 minutes.
  8. Serve: Remove from the oven, place on a plate, and serve with freshly ground pepper and oregano leaves.
