Expensive Grass-fed vs Cheap Wagyu A5 I often associate price with quality. If something costs more it must be better right? Wagyu A5 is notoriously expensive. But there is a lot of variance in price based on the cut. For example a wagyu A5 filet mignon could cost +$200/lb, while the top round in this video was closer to just $70/lb. The same concept applies to grass-fed beef. The grass-fed steak in this video has wagyu genetics, but since the cow only ate grass during its life, it’s technically considered “grass-fed”. Despite a similar price the wagyu A5 top round was the clear winner on every metric. But keep in mind this is just my opinion, I highly recommend keeping an open mind! My final takeaway is that perhaps the higher end cuts of wagyu A5 may not always be worth it when more affordable cuts taste just as good. In fact, I’d probably prefer eating this A5 top round over an A5 ribeye most days of the week! 🥩 @alpinebutcher Wagyu A5 Top Round ————— SUBSCRIBE and RING THE BELL to get notified when I post a video!
