Instructions

  1. Prepare Oven-Roasted Strawberries: Oven roast strawberries ahead of time until they reach a gem-like consistency.
  2. Make Strawberry Sauce: Slice 1 quart of strawberries, add 1/2 cup sugar and some lemon juice, then combine to make the strawberry sauce.
  3. Make Banana Pudding Part One: In a bowl, whisk cold water and sweetened condensed milk slowly until fully incorporated. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Prepare Banana Pudding Part Two: Use the thickened pudding from the refrigerator (set overnight). With a mixer on low speed, gently mix the pudding to avoid over mixing.
  5. Add Roasted Strawberry Puree: Add the roasted strawberry puree to the banana pudding mixture and combine.
  6. Assemble Dessert: Layer a spoonful of pudding at the bottom of a trifle bowl or individual cups, followed by a small amount of cookies, a few banana slices, strawberries, another spoonful of cookies, more banana slices, and finish with a final spoonful of pudding on top.
