Ingredients

  1. white rum - 1 1/2 oz (base spirit)
  2. Cointreau - 3/4 oz (orange liqueur)
  3. orgeat syrup - 1/2 oz (almond syrup)
  4. lime juice - 3/4 oz (freshly squeezed)
  5. dark rum - 1/2 oz (for floating on top)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cocktail: In a shaker, combine 1 1/2 oz of white rum, 3/4 oz of Cointreau, 1/2 oz of orgeat syrup, and 3/4 oz of freshly squeezed lime juice.
  2. Shake: Add copious amounts of hand-flavored ice to the shaker and shake well.
  3. Strain: Strain the mixture over pebble ice in a glass.
  4. Float dark rum: Carefully float 1/2 oz of dark rum on top of the cocktail.
  5. Garnish: Garnish with a lime wheel or lemon.
