TORTOISE MASALA VADA – DAL BONDA – PALAK PAKODA INGREDIENTS: Chana dal (soaked) - 500gms Fennel seeds - 1 tsp Ginger (crushed) - 1pieces Garlic (paste) - 1 tsp turmeric powder - ¼ tsp green chillies - 3 nos. curry leaves - 1 spring onion - 1 no. coriander leaves - 1 bunch salt - as per taste oil - as required urad dal (soaked) - 500gms cumin - 1 tsp asafoetida - ¼ tsp green leaves - 1 cup Moong Dal (Soaked) - 500gms rice flour - ½ cup baking powder - ¼ tsp DIRECTIONS: • Take soaked Chanadal into a blender, and grind into a fine paste. • Then transfer into a bowl, add fennel seeds, crushed ginger, garlic, turmeric powder, green chillies, curry leaves, onion, coriander leaves, salt mix it well nicely. • Make the vadas, fry into the hot oil until they golden in color. Transfer into the a plate. • Take soaked urad dal into a blender, and grind into a fine paste. • Then transfer into a bowl, add onion, green chilli, cumin, asafoetida, turmeric powder, ginger, coriander leaves, your favorite green leaves mix it well and make like the vadas shapes. • Heat hot oil in a pan, fry them until they turn golden in color and transfer into a plate. • Take soaked moong dal into a blender, and grind into a fine paste. • Then transfer into bowl, add cumin seeds, ginger, green chilli, onion, curry leaves, salt, rice flour, baking powder mix it well and make into small dumplings, fry them until they turn golden in color.
