In a medium bowl, sift the flour, then add the salt and whisk to combine. Set aside. 2. In a large bowl, place the yeast, white sugar, and warm milk. Mix to combine. Add the egg and the melted butter, whisking until well combined. 3. Add the flour and mix with a rubber spatula until incorporated. Cover and let rest for 10 minutes. Knead by hands for 5 minutes until soft and smooth. Shape the dough into a ball, then transfer to a greased medium bowl and cover with plastic wrap for 1 hour. 4. In a bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon. Sift to make sure there are no lumps from the brown sugar. Set aside. 5. Place the dough on a floured surface and roll out to an 18 by 12 inches or 45 by 30 cm rectangle shape. Let rest for 10 minutes. Spread the softened butter on top. Sprinkle the brown sugar cinnamon mixture all over the dough and spread it evenly. Cut the dough in half with a pizza cutter to make the rolling easy. 6. Roll the first half in a log. Cut into 6 even slices using an unflavored floss. Place in a greased 9 by 13 baking pan. Repeat with the second half. Cover the pan with plastic wrap and let rise for 1 hour. 7. Meanwhile, prepare the cream cheese icing. In a medium bowl, beat soft cream cheese and soft butter with a hand mixer for 2 minutes. Add vanilla and confectioner's sugar and continue beating until well combined about 2 minutes. Set aside. 8. Bake cinnamon rolls in preheated 350 degrees F oven (180 degrees C) on the center rack for 20 minutes. Let cool for 20 minutes before topping with the icing.
