The Coffee Cocktail can be found in Jerry Thomas' infamous Bartender's Manual. It's rich and fruity on the nose with plenty of spice from the freshly grated nutmeg. It tastes somewhat chocolaty with a velvety mouthfeel. INGREDIENTS - 60mL Tawny Port (2 oz) - 30mL Cognac / Brandy (1 oz) - 15mL Simple Syrup (½ oz) - Whole Egg METHOD 1. Combine all ingredients into your cocktail shaker 2. Dry shake (without ice) to emulsify the egg 3. Wet shake (with ice) 4. Strain into a chilled, stemmed cocktail glass 5.
