The hazelnut notes take a backseat in the Smoky Hazelnut Bourbon Sour whilst the citrus and smokiness are the more prominent flavours. I tried two versions - one with egg white and one without - with egg white is definitely the preferred of the two, adding texture and a pleasant mouth feel to the cocktail. Combine the bourbon, Frangelico, lemon juice and simple syrup to your cocktail shaker 2. Shake with ice (dry shake without ice if adding egg white) 3. Strain over fresh ice 4.
