Quick Breakfast Sambhar with South Indian Rava Pongal Recipe

Breakfast Sambar with Rava Pongal INGREDIENTS: Oil - As Required Mustard seeds - 1 tsp Cumin seeds - 1 tsp Red chilli - 4 nos. Fenugreek seeds - ½ tsp Onion - 1 nos. Curry leaves - 1 spring Turmeric powder - ½ tsp Pumpkin (chopped) - 1 cup Asafoetida - 1 pinch Pumpkin (Chopped) - 1 cup Green chillies - 4 nos. Tamarind juice - 1 cup Tomatoes - 1 cup Salt - as per taste Moong dal - 150 gms Coriander leaves - 1 bunch sambar masala powder - 2 tsp Sooji - 1cup Moong dal (mashed) - 1 cup DIRECTIONS: Sambar: Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chillies, fenugreek seeds, onions and add curry leaves, turmeric powder, asafoetida, pumpkin saute it till it turns slightly transparent. Now add green chillies, tamarind juice, tomatoes, salt, boiled moong dal and water. Let it cook it for few minutes with the lid closed on slow flame. At last, add coriander leaves, sambar powder and let it cook for some more time. And switch off the flame. Sambar is ready. Rava Pongal: Heat oil in a pan,add pepper, cumin seeds, cashew nuts fry them till the colour is slightly changed. Then add curry leaves, asafoetida(Hing), Sooji roast it. Then add some salt, mashed moong dal and cook it for few minutes by adding water. Now healthy breakfast sambar is ready to serve with rava pongal.
