Six Types Of Kootu Common Tempering For All Six Kootu’s Mustard seeds - 2 tsp Cumin seeds - 2 tsp Crushed garlic - 2 tb spn Curry leaves 5 strings Oil - As required Method: In a pan add oil,chillies,mustard seeds,cumin seeds,crushed garlic,curry leaves and cook it for a minute and keep aside. Banana Stem Kootu Ingredients: Banana Stem - 1 cup Chana Dal(Boiled) - ½ cup Moong Dal(Boiled) - ½ cup Onions - ¼ cup Green Chillies - 2 Turmeric - ½ tsp Hing - ½ tsp Coconut paste - ½ cup Salt - To Taste Water - As required Method: Firstly take a pan add water,some onions,green chillies,little turmeric,hing,chopped banana stem and saute it for sometime,then add rock salt and simmer it. Now add chana dal and moong dal and cook it. In the last add coconut paste,tempering and serve it hot. Banana Flower Kootu Ingredients: Banana Flower - ½ cup Chana Dal(Boiled) - ½ cup Moong Dal(Boiled) - ½ cup Onions - ¼ cup Green Chillies - 2 Turmeric - ½ tsp Hing - ½ tsp Coconut paste - ½ cup Salt - To Taste Water - As required Method: Firstly take a pan add water,some onions,green chillies,little turmeric,hing,cleaned banana flower and cook it for 10 minutes,then add rock salt and simmer it. Now add chana dal and moong dal and cook it. In the last add coconut paste,tempering and serve it hot. Potato Carrot Kootu Ingredients: Potatoes - 1 Carrot - 1 Chana Dal(Boiled) - ½ cup Moong Dal(Boiled) - ½ cup Onions - ¼ cup Green Chillies - 2 Turmeric - ½ tsp Hing - ½ tsp Coconut paste - ½ cup Salt - To Taste Water - As required Method: Firstly take a pan add water,some onions,green chillies,little turmeric,hing,chopped potatoes,chopped carrot and cook it for 5-7 minutes,then add rock salt and simmer it.
